A name with a pearl connection
I started making jewelry when I was around twelve. My name, Maggie, means pearl, so freshwater pearls feel like a fitting material to return to. In 2021, I began selling my pieces on Depop because I wanted to make something of my own and work on my own terms.
That independent spirit is still part of Maggie Made This. I’m also a computer science student, and I enjoy building systems and automations. Jewelry lets me bring that practical, problem-solving side together with color, texture, and hands-on design.
Natural materials, individual character
I’m drawn to freshwater pearls, abalone, shells, and other materials that carry their own variation. A pearl can have a soft ripple or an irregular outline; abalone shifts color as the light changes. Those differences are part of the material, not flaws to hide.
